The Command Sisters

“Together, their bittersweet harmonies are like a prairie sunset on an August night — so gorgeous, you’ll want to stop what you’re doing just to soak it all in.”                                                                                                 Sandra Sperounes, Edmonton Journal Music Editor.

Siblings, wicked harmonies, mastered musicians and songwriters that garnered them a publishing deal out of Nashville at the ripe ages of 12 and 15, the COMMAND SISTERS are stealing hearts everywhere from Alberta to Tennessee. Their music is fresh and new. Charlotte’s unique lead vocals and writing style along with Sarah’s ability to solo and riff like ‘one of the boys’ defines their sound — ‘country with soul’ or ‘edgy country pop’ — and that sound is breaking genres. Whatever it is, it’s exciting and innovative and completely their own. This talent, this sound…wrapped up in a sincere charm, wit, energy, and stage presence for miles has made industry insiders and fans alike sit up and pay attention…close attention.

Showcasing at the CCMAs 2012 in the New Artist category and at Folk Alliance 2012, along with winning at the Edmonton Music Awards brought the girls forward to another showcase at the 2013 CCMAs on the coveted SOCAN Songwriter Cafe stage as well as many other opportunities to share their music. Charlotte and Sarah were also featured on a CBC TV special entitled NEW FACES.

The COMMAND SISTERS have performed extensively on many stages throughout the country – Edmonton Folk, Canmore Folk, Island Folk, Mountain View, Harvest Moon and Big Valley to name a few. They were part of a nationally televised CBC benefit concert alongside Johnny Reid, Emerson Drive and George Canyon, and part of a private reception with Duke William and Duchess Kate in Calgary, Alberta.

The girl’s first trip to Nashville in 2011 was highly successful, leading to a publishing and production deal and then recorded a full length album.  They have since returned to Nashville to participate in a movie about teen musicians, and have now had a 3rd return visit to be part of the Sunday Spotlight Show at Nashville’s famed Blue Bird Cafe.

Part of the girls’ musical journey began by performing at local charity and fundraising events. To keep with what’s important and dear to their hearts, the girls continue to sing on the children’s Oncology/Cardiology Ward at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, and, support Music Saves Lives USA, YOUCAN and Pilgrim’s Hospice. And, they can still be found singing for those seniors and various not-for-profit groups in their community as a way to keep alive their belief that it’s important to always give back and to always remember where it all began.

With the recent announcement of distribution through Universal/Fontana, showcases at Folk Alliance International and Canada Music Week 2013, this formidable, young and gifted sister act is JUST getting started. So, stay tuned…
